Coaching - 1:1 development aimed at increasing a persons awareness and choice to progress their development and effectiveness. A coaching approach takes the stance that the coachee is the focus and the coach is there to help them set goals, look at current reality, explore options and determine actions. Then subsequently review and progress round the learning cycle.

Developing awareness to repeating patterns and habits is key, as well as noticing how the whole system is involved (head, emotions, physical state). From awareness stems the development of choices. A coach can be vital to helping a coachee develop a choice that they might not initially see as an option - "I couldn't possible stand up and present....".

Transitional Coaching - Coahing for people during periods of transition ushc as promotion to a new role. This is when people are at the most need of support and the organisation has the greatest risk, so focussing some investment at this time has a very high pay off.

There is so much to say about coaching and for the moment, there is the case study in the articles page Coaching Article
