Phil Dickinson

I am a very experienced Management Development Consultant, Facilitator and Trainer. My work ranges from; individual coaching, working with business teams to increase effectiveness, running short training courses, through to designing and running Leadership and High Potential programmes spanning 9 - 12 months.

I have been working in Management and Personal Development for 20 years and running my own company for the last 11 years.

I specialise in the development of individuals and team’s effectiveness and therefore the success of their businesses. The central core to most of my work is helping people to work more effectively with themselves and others through; understanding myself, managing myself, understanding others and managing relationships i.e. building peoples skills and awareness around Emotional Intelligence.


I bring an expertise of impactful development methods in the area of people skills, plus experience of working with Managers, :Leaders and Staff in the following:- UK, Denmark, Sweden, Holland , Norway, Finland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Singapore, Russia, USA, and former Yugoslavia.

I teach the Enneagram as part of the faculty at Emmaus House in Bristol.

I have an MSc in Management Development from Roffey Park/Salford University. I have been qualified in MBTI step 1 & 2 for 10 years (Personality Type model and techniques) and an NLP Master Practitioner for 6 (interpersonal excellence model and techniques). I have run master classes for Oxford Psychologists Press on the use of these two models together, in order to really make an impact in interpersonal skills development. I have delivered seminars on Type in both the UK and USA for the national personality type organisations. I have a number of other tools that I can call on for groups or individuals – IE/TE - Emotional Intelligence, Firo Element B, Enneagram, Benchmarks, Profilor, MTRI. I have expertise and experience in many different learning architectures, Self Managed Learning being a particularly effective method for Leadership programmes.

My potted CV is 3 years teaching Science in a secondary school, joined the IT industry with ICL/Fujitsu as a technical trainer. Moved into line management after 4 years and then into Management Development after 5 years. After 8 years with ICL’s internal Management Development Consultancy I set up People Developments 12 years ago.

I live in Portsmouth, enjoy sailing my 30 ft yacht, being a father to 2 young adults who have just left university and creating, exhibiting and selling my ceramic art. I started to play the flute 8 years ago and do so occasionally with the LSO (Late Starters Orchestra!). I am currently learning the Cello and last year passed my Grade 1.
